Category: My First Blogg-Rules…

Continuation…..

Well, I was so wrapped up in this blog thing, that I failed to tell you about our new church. Now, it’s not big yet nor really established, but we’re getting there. RiverRidge Church is a sister church from Westridge and is just now getting off the ground.  We’re currently meeting at Diamond Starz sports facility at Hwy 5 and Hwy 78.  We are a new church with a heart of God and seeking His Kingdom in all we do.  Sam Braswell is our Pastor and I’m currently joining the staff as the Worship Leader. It’s really scary to tell you the truth. We’ve always been a part of an established church or service and so this is totally different.  We’re actually starting with only 45-50 faithful people and building from there. I’m so excited about this new beginning not only for RRC but for our family as well. My wife is getting involved, our son is loving the room where he goes and I’m loving leading Worship again. It’s always been a passion of mine, but I never felt like I was capable of doing so. Plus, it’s scary to be in charge of leading Worship… Worship is the preparation before the teaching and your preparing hearts to receive the word.. Wow, it’s awesome but so intimidating..

To prepare myself, I’ve been reading Matt Redman’s book, “Facedown” and Chris Tomlin’s, “The Way I Was Made.”  These books really put things into perspective and are very helpful in your walk with Christ. I challenge you, if you’d like an easy reading, put it into perspective book, either one is great.. So with that said, I’ll leave you with my favorite verse and one I truly try to mimic my walk with Christ daily.  Phillipians 4:6 tells us:

” In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. “

I love these words.. Don’t be anxious-in everything-not some things, only when I want too, or only when times are tough, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your wants or requests be known to God.. Wow, isn’t that awesome?? My biggest hang up sometimes is I don’t always come to Him with thanksgiving.. I usually come to Him with a hand out or wanting something. I’m always wanting things now, not later, I can wait but I don’t want to, desire.. Christ tells us don’t be that way.. Be patient, come to Him with thanksgiving and in EVERYTHING, then let your wants or requests be known to God. Most of the time, we skip that part and go straight to the asking part.. I know I do.. So, what are you anxious about? Are you coming to God with thanksgiving and patience?? Or are you coming to Him wanting, needing and forgetting what He has done already and what He’s going to do??  I challenge you to put your anxiety’s aside, be still and patient, and let God control your life.. RRC may not be big, but Satan right now is trying to beat us down-but GOD says we’re are Victorious.. God says we’re Victors-not victims.. God has some awesome things awaiting RRC and I’m so glad to be a part of it from the beginning.. Hope you have an awesome week and check back each night for a new blog.. Maybe this will be a habit.. :)

MY FIRST BLOGGGGG

Ok…So I talk alot, have alot to say-some of which is none-sense-but I have a place to put it now.. I have my OWN BLOG!!! WOO HOO!!! Thank you so much Charles for setting it up and Sam for allowing me to have a place to put my thoughts.

If you told me a long time ago I would be here, placing my thoughts for others to read, I would have told you that was a crazy idea.  After reading Sam’s blog, replying one time and it looking like a book, I jokingly stated I needed a blog too.. Low and behold, here I am..

So, here are some of the rules I have for myself…..

    1.  Spelling and grammar DOES NOT count.. :)   Sometimes/most of the time I speak from my heart so things may or may not be spelled correctly or make sense.. So that said, grammar and spelling may or may not be correct.. Sorry..

    2.  Everything is from my heart or thoughts.. It may be a vent, a thought or just something God has revealed to me..

    3.  You don’t have to agree with me or like what I said, but hey, that’s the beauty of the world.. Our differences make the world go round and are welcomed..

    4.  I love Jesus Christ and I need accountability in my life. So I try to surround myself with positive people and those who will stand behind me no matter what mistakes I make. They can correct me in a positive loving manner and progress my walk with Christ.

    5.  I love hometeams and Worship. I’m back doing what I love again in a place that has so much potential, it would change Douglasville all together.  Maybe that’s what God has in mind, maybe not, but the journey there will be interesting and will definitly grow character.

Well, that’s my first blog and that feels pretty good if I do say so myself.. As I have more time, you’ll begin to see my page changing.. Thanks for reading it and have an awesome day!!
